Why India is not successful in football?

by Saturday, January 09, 2016 0 comments
With India winning the SAFF cup defeating Afghanistan who were ranked above us, displayed that the country has good footballing talent.

But the reason it doesn't change anything is because SAFF is not FIFA monitored. So these matches weren't even official for FIFA. Also that we have won it many time in past years but football is still given the same place as a Low League cricket match.

What are the factors that result in India being not so good in football? So here are some funny and serious but the real reasons, Enjoy Reading :

1. MEDIA : Yesterday a kid playing in u-16 trophy of Cricket, scored 1009 runs not out ( which is ridiculously a great feat) and got an hour coverage on 5 news channel and front page on newspaper but India SAFF cup victory was not able to make to even Sports section of India's biggest selling News paper "Dainik Bhaskar".
With all due respect to the Kid, I believe International Cup victory is much much more important than making a Record against kids half your height. Dude! Once Even I scored 20+ goals in a Single match when I was 14 playing against college people ! Media didn't cover that?

Here's a Football to Cricket comparision chart :

2. Parents : This is the biggest reason why India doesn't have amazing players. According to 99.99% parents ( more than the germs that lifebuoy kills), sports has no scope, unless it's cricket. But my parents don't discriminate football from cricket. For them neither football nor cricket has scope. Parents think that only being an Engineer or a Doctor has bright future.

Fact File for Dear Parents: Zlatan Ibrahimovic, on the biggest footballing star right now/ also the richest was a Brilliant student when young getting straight A+'s but his parents dropped him from school so he could concentrate on football. ( Zlatan, Can I borrow your parents?)

3. Religions and Rituals : *Pre- I respect all religions all rituals that other practise * It may sound ridiculous, but the thing is that in hindu religion touching something with foot is considered a bad thing. Give it a try, throw something down and touch it with foot, someone who notices will pick it up, pray it and kiss it (lol). Also kicking is an offence, according to our culture.
Just for fun.

4. Habit - In India, it's more like a culture, that every person assigned to guard something have a tendency to doze off with no time. Watchmen at gates, Security guard and policemens at duty, politicians, Goal Keepers....

5. Lack of Stadiums and Equipment : Here in India, it's like you don't buy and play with proper football cleats until you know how to play it. Seriously go to a playground, you'll see 10 kids playing, 4 with proper cleats, 2 with running shoes, 2 in slippers and 2 barefooted. Dear Indians, it's not how it works. You can't learn to play guitar without using a guitar. Also here stadiums for football are less and fields for herd grazing are more. And those which exits, are none less than training grounds quality.

Hope you liked it. Wrote it for fun, not to take seriously if offended. :)
